Who We Are
Alpha Pregnancy Help Center (PHC) is a local non-profit agency, and California State-Licensed community medical clinic. Our mission is to serve the community with life-affirming solutions related to pregnancy, parenting, and relationships.
We know that an unplanned pregnancy can become a crisis when faced with financial issues, changes in education and career goals, relationship or family issues, or just bad timing. Often, having an abortion can seem like the only viable option. We’re here to encourage informed decision-making by providing a safe place to process, and offering free and confidential resources and information on parenting, abortion, and adoption. We do not provide or refer for abortions, however, we do offer professional, informative, and compassionate care to support you in your pregnancy decision. If needed, we also offer resources to supplement your first trimester care, in addition to parenting classes and reproductive loss support. Always free.
Alpha PHC is governed by a Board of Directors. Dr. Timothy Johnston is the Medical Director and provides oversight for the medical clinic staff and operations. Executive Director, Debbie Croft, provides oversight for all non-medical operations of the pregnancy center, directing staff and activities related to client services, donor partnerships, administration, mission, vision and community relations. Services are provided at our Merced location, in addition to several outlying areas of Merced County through our Mobile Clinic.
